John Locke In the Second Treatise of Government by John Locke, he writes about the right to private property. In the chapter which is titled "Of Property" he tells how the right to private property originated, the role it plays in the state of nature, the limitations that are set on the rights of private property, the role the invention of money played in property rights and the role property rights play after the establishment of government.. In this chapter Locke makes significant points about private property. In this paper I will summarize his analysis of the right to private property, and I will give my opinion on some of the points Locke makes in his book. According to Locke, the right to private property originated when God gave the world to men. Locke makes the argument that when God created the world for man, he gave man reason to make use of the world to the best advantage of life, and convenience. What he means by that is, that God made this world for man, and when he made it he gave man the right to use what is in this world to his benefit. Locke explains that every man has property in his own person, and that nobody has any right to that property but that person. The author states that "whatsoever then he removes out of the state of nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his labour with, and joined to it something that is his own, and thereby makes it his property (Locke pg. 19)". What Locke means by that statement is that once a person removes something out of its original state of nature that something becomes that persons property. After someone gains this property are there any limitations on that property? Locke believes that there are limitations on that property. Locke believes that God has given us all things richly, and that man may use those things as long as he takes what he needs. Men can have property as long as they obtained it rightfully, and as long as they use discretion. If those limitations were overlooked when the person was getting the property the property was not obtained rightfully. In the chapter the rights of property, Locke tells the role that the invention of money plays in property rights. Money was invented because people were abusing their property rights. With the creation of money things were given value, and this invention prevented people from taking more than they could afford. Money was an invention that men could keep without spoiling. Men could exchange money for truly useful, but perishable supports of life. This invention plays a big role in the property rights. Now that there is money people have to use that money to get what they need instead of taking whatever they want as was the case before the invention of money. According to Locke, individual property rights change after government was established. He believes that in governments, the laws regulate the right of property, and the possession of land is determined by positive constitutions. Before the establishment of government Americans had the rights to property as long as they used it before it spoiled, and as long as they didn't take more than they needed, and as long as they obtained it rightfully. After government, there were laws and restrictions pertaining to property. These laws and restrictions were established to secure protection of those who had property. I believe that some of Locke's views on the rights to private property are right. I agree with his thoughts of the way property rights originated, the limitations he said were placed on property rights, and his thoughts of why money was invented. I also agree with his take on the role property rights played after government was established. I think that government plays a very important part in the protection of property. Without the laws that are made by the government there would be many problems with property rights. People still have the right to have any property they want as long as they can afford it and as long as it is obtained properly. The points that Locke makes in the chapter Of property are very important and pertain to American society today. I feel that he was extremely accurate in some of his views and he is an important figure in world history.

So Petruchio calls for the horse so that they can go back to his house in the country side. Katherina is either very tired or that she has realised that it is pointless to argue with Petruchio. The final scene is with all the family and suitor gathered having a feast. This is where we see who much more in love Katherina and Petruchio are. Their relationship is now a lot stronger and on steadier grounds than Biancas and Lucentios. Petruchio and Katherina have learned to love each other. The last scene there is a bet raised to see whose wife is more obedient to there husband. There is a wager of hundred crowns each. Before this wager Bapstia is very impressed how Petruchio has tamed his viscous daughter he awards another dowry to Petruchio. The bet is to see who comes first to there husbands when they call for there wives. This is the moment where we see how much Katherina has changed. When she arrives she has a lot to say but does not speak to the men she speaks to the widow, who is unconvinced by what Katherina has to say. When Katherina speaks to the widow she says she see Petruchio as a god, Thy husband is thy lord. Katherina has been taught to obey Petruchio in very way and she does so. Shes tells the widow how simple women are and that they have only one thing to do in life and thats to have children. She says that women are weak and tender. Katherina sees that Petruchio has taught her and that she has learned that her behaviour was unacceptable. In the end Petruchio has the chance to embarrass Katherina even more by making her kiss his feet but he does not and kisses her on her lips. Then Petruchio invites Katherina to bed and Katherina comes willingly. This is the sign in my opinion that Katherina and Petruchio are in love. I agree with the fact that Katherina has been tamed and that she is not defeated. I think that Katherina and Petruchio are in love but I also think that they might be playing a tick on the others to seek there rewards. I think that she is not defeated because of the way that the play ends; Petruchio has the opportunity to embarrass Katherina completely but he does not, this shows a sense of understanding between the two of them. She is not defeated because she still has a sense of her own character even though she has fallen in love with Petruchio. I come to this conclusion because Petruchio is the one that raises the bet and he is confident about betting his money on it. Katherina is not defeated because she attacks the widow in her own words. Katherina respects Petruchio but in the same way Petruchio most defiantly respects Katherina. This is show by Petruchio when he has the option to embarrass Katherina but decides not to. This relationship is the strongest because the only rival to it is Biancas and Lucentios. This relationship is total false because Lucentio fell in love with the wrong Bianca. This relationship seems very shallow and they were married on false pretences. They married each other without knowing each other. Bianca has been living a lie to the whole world and she only shows her true colours in the final scene where she does not do what Lucentio says she should do. They meet when Lucentio dresses up as a tutor so he is not being himself. Lucentio sees Bianca as a young and lovely girl. Lucentio is the one who is in love and not Bianca. Bianca has not been tamed and therefore she is the shrew. Bianca shows her true colours by tell Lucentio the more fool you for laying on my duty. Hath cost me hundred crowns since supper time; this is where Lucentio realises that he is married to an untamed shrew. A shrew he thought he had control over and he doesnt. The other relationship other than the widow and Hortensio is the one of Baptista and his daughters. Baptista obviously loves Bianca more than Katherina, because otherwise he would show Katherina a lot more tenderness Call you me daughter? I promise you have showed a tender fatherly regard. He does show Bianca that he is fond of her He fondles her. A reason for why he is not as fatherly to Katherina is because of the way she treats Bianca. However, Katherina treats Bianca the way she does because of the lack of love on his part. Thus creating an emotional and vicious circle where it would seem that Katherina fairs worst. There are two essential ideas that are recurrent throughout The Taming of the Shrew. First, is the relationship with Katherina and Bianca who, as sisters should have an admiration for each other. This however, is apparently absent. This may be due to the fact of Katherinas profound jealousy of Bianca. The second is the unjust quantities of love shared between Katherina and Bianca from Baptista. Katherina has an obviously sad and despairing heart caused by many years of loneliness and loathing. The only way she can express this is to act obnoxiously towards Bianca, for she, in Katherinas eyes is the problem. Baptista is evidently an incredibly obtuse father towards his daughters. A more rational father would love both daughters in proportion. Baptista does not do this. However, Baptista is never hateful towards Katherina; he is just merely civil, similar to that of an acquaintance rather than that of a daughter. The views of marriage and womans rights have changed a lot since the time of Elizabeth the first. A feminist in the 1960s, Germaine Greer wrote about The taming of the shrew instead of tearing the play to pieces she supports it and even say that Kates speech at the close of the play is the greatest defence of Christian monogamy ever written. Even though the play has moments of women being ordered around by men, Katherinas and Petruchios relationship has hints of a change coming. I think that this relationship is going to change to the fact that they will have equal rights in there relationship. I think Shakespeare didnt want us to jump from one extreme to the other; he simply was pointing out the failings, and warned us of the path we were following. The hint of this made it acceptable to feminists. Shakespeare did not write the play to make it acceptable to feminist I think he was forward thinking and I believe that he saw that the way marriage was seen was going to change. However, other means of calculating the gross domestic product include adding up the value of every firm that is involved in the production of final goods and services. In addition, other measures can also be employed such as the total production and the total income.4 According to the China Daily, various risks are associated with this downtrend, which has driven the policy makers to act quickly. According to the analysts, the gross domestic product for the country is expected to reduce in the month of April compared to other months in the year. The reasons for these downward trends are the weak exports and dwindling real estate markets. However, there are other factors that I will analyze, which have caused the economic downtown in the country. These factors are related to consumption, investments, government purchases, and net exports.5 The basic equation for calculating the gross domestic product is GDP=C+I+G+ (X-M), where C represents the private consumption, I represents the gross investments, G represents government spending and (X-M) represents the exports minus imports.6 Production approach In order for China to experience declining economic growth in the in the production sector, a number of reasons can be attributed. One of the major factors is that the country has been experiencing a decline in the number of exports to other countries. As a result, the manufacturers have been hard hit and the ports remain piled due to the low demands of these goods. A major contributor to the low demand of the products is the availability of quality substitutes, which are produced in another country.7 Products such as the mobile phones and the electronic equipment such as the televisions have remained in low demand though the co st of production in the country is low. In addition, the value of the Chinese Yuan has constantly been on the rise due to the recent demand for its products and services. But the differences of how and when the love potion is administered, and the lovers’ feelings for each other before the potion is drunk, reveal different depictions of the love potion between the novel and the film. The first difference between the film and the novel is when the two lovers drink the love potion. In the book, they drink the love potion when they are still on the boat and have â€Å"dropped anchor by an island† (Bà ©dier, 42). Here Iseult has not met King Mark. But in the film, Natalie and Patrice drink the love potion after Natalie has been introduced to Uncle Mark. In the first instance, they both have a chance to elope, and no one would be the wiser. They can easily live a life of comfort and full of love with each other, but Tristan chooses to hand over the woman he loves to his Uncle, and suffer for his love. In the film, Natalie and Patrice are not given this option, and therefore do not have a chance to escape their faith. Also in the book, an unknowing maid gives the love potion to the lovers. She believes that she is just giving them wine. This signifies the fact that no one intentionally wished for them to suffer, but faith led them to it. But i n the film, Achille puts the love potion in their drinks on the pretext of murdering them with poison. In the film the fact that the love potion is labeled poison, foreshadows the pain and sorrow the two lovers will face, because poison leads to a slo... ...g this news for the first time and is astounded and angry. Aunt Gertrude, though shrewd and unlikable, also realizes the attraction between Patrice and Natalie, and tells Patrice that he is marrying the girl he loves to his Uncle. X is a socio-cultural organization     working for social reformations for over two decades. It is a registered NGO, a non-profit organization. Currently, the main thrust of the organization is drug demand reduction amongst the younger generation. Drug abuse and alcoholism are among major causes for social maladies and     they misdirect the youth to antisocial activities and terrorism. The program initiated by X is an exclusive Psycho Analytical Treatment Module, which works on the total personality of an individual (addict). The highlight of our program is craving for drugs and alcohol is erased from the mind of the addict. That prevents the relapse, which is the major cause of worry in most of the drug demand reduction program. The drug demand reduction program of X has changed the lives of many individuals, transformed and rehabilitated families. X therefore, wishes to set up a comprehensive centre for de-addiction as it is felt that with growing number of cases, makeshift arrangements are not enough. X wishes to establish a full-fledged treatment centre.   Many across the country as well as a sizeable number from abroad have enquired about and have suggested for a proper permanent centre for inpatients, which require treatment for a fairly long period. â€Å"It is better to have a world united than a world divided; but it s better to have a world divided than a world destroyed,† said Sir Winston Churchill at the time of Second World War! At that time, perhaps Mr. Churchill did not think about this new war, where the youth of all the countries will join together, the war objective being mutual destruction. Constructive dynamism should be the watchwords for this generation, but they preferred the ‘warmth’ of the fire-place beside the drug-joints .To provide the complete drug statistics, will mean writing an encyclopedia. The situation is simply mind-boggling. Therefore, the goal of X Organization is to bring total reduction in drug demand among the addicts and transform our drug-afflicted society into a society that is totally liberated from drug and substance abuse and make it   morally strong to stand against the related evils under any and all circumstances. It is no use brooding over the statistics, whether drug addicts are 1 million or 10 million! The menace has assumed alarming proportions, with no signs of abating.   If it is not checked with extra-serious efforts, the disastrous results will be catastrophic!   Youth are caught in it, and the clutches are too strong. The combustible younger generation is burning itself in the fire of various types of drug addictions. The present efforts made by UNODC, Govt. agencies, medical practitioners and philanthropists in the area of drug demand reduction, are like blocking a furiously advancing avalanche with the fence of straw. Or trying to touch the moon by kite flying! Or controlling the rising flood waters of the river by filling pitchers! Statistical studies and data are no doubt needed, but it is no use digging the well when the house is on fire. When there is a war, your goal should be to win the war, no matter how you do it. The initiatives should be implemented by honest people on a massive     scale. The transformation from addiction to de-addiction is like driving a vehicle, in the reverse gear—it is slow; has to be done with extra care! â€Å"When it comes to drug abuse people within a community can be seen as belonging to three different zones. The three zones can be best compared to a traffic light. People in the green zone are those who do not use drugs presently. Those in the amber zone are the early users, who run a great risk of developing problems. Those in the red zone are persons who are addicted. People in the red zone need treatment that is expensive and requires a lot of effort, and relapses are frequent. Therefore, red zone strategies include detoxification and rehabilitation† (UNODC Thematic Pamphlets 9) Majority of the youth addicts are in the red zone! As already stated, X is a non-profit Organization, just covering up its expenses through small donations, but it has the stability and experience of two decades behind it. Some of the philanthropists have been approached and seized of the issue. The activities of the project will be divided into two years. The program chalked out is: 1. Acquisition and possession of land 2. Outpatient department of the de addiction centre will be constructed first to initiate the following activities. a) Specialist and Medical Staff. b) Medicine Room. c) Landscaping for Naturopathy. d) Herbal Garden e) Community Education Program. f) Residential facilities for inpatient treatment. Project Impact: The objective of this treatment is to provide a treatment that treats, cures, detoxifies, recovers and rehabilitates an addict. Also transforms the individual in such a manner that there is a total denial to and abstinence from Drugs, alcohol and any type of substance abuse. With the impact of the project there would be increase in the level of awareness among masses and the stakeholders that there is a technique besides customary medical techniques that can totally transform and reform an addict into a decent individual and make productive member of the society. Counseling has the dominant role to play in the cure of the youth drug-addict.   They are, improving study, deepening self-understanding, and solving personal problems, etc. Solutions and intervention: To treat youth drug-addicts is not like the treatment of patients with cold or headache. Each addict is a special person and his problems are his own and they are quite intriguing. You have to deal with a cluster of problems relating to an individual before he is cured finally. This is a job of great perseverance, apart from the medical knowledge about the treatment. Drug demand reduction is a co-operative effort. Several persons are involved in the treatment of a drug addict. The co-operation of the addict is all the more important. .Monitoring and Evaluation: Internal monitoring and evaluation of the program will be carried out by the Organization Management, evaluation staff will be appointed and trained. The Fund Utilization Certificate will be made available through a registered Chartered Accountant. Conclusion: When a drug addict is constantly nagged and abused, condemned and ostracized by society, he turns into a viler and bitter individual. In such cases showering of pity alone will not help much. Heartfelt care and concern, an understanding approach, and tender regard for feelings are necessary prerequisites to heal the inner wounds, the self-inflicted damage.   Coupled with this, everybody involved in the treatment, directly and indirectly, need to learn to forgive and forget the past of the patient in order to help him build a new identity.
